An outstanding book of photos by the renowned photographer Ray Avery. He and his camera was in attendance at all of the "Stars of Jazz" television programs produced by Jimmie Baker at KABC, Los Angeles from 1956 to 1958 incl. The book portraits more than 100 great artists such as Charlie Barnet, Art Blakey, Benny Carter, June Christy, Buddy DeFranco, Jimmy Giuffre, Billie Holiday, Harry James, Shelly Manne, Lizzie Miles, Red Norvo, Anita O'Day, Oscar Peterson, André Previn, Bud Shank, Jack Teagarden, Bobby Troup, Paul Whiteman - to name just a few! The book is extremely nicely printed in black duotone and fully indexed. The format is A4 (29,7x21 cm) and contains 168 pages. It is hardbound with laminated dustcover!
